Taffy teaches Nantucket basket weaving at her home on Nauset Beach in East Orleans, MA, and is available to teach classes in your home for groups of four or more students.

Beginner lessons are held over a two-day peiod. During the first day, students are taught how to set up the staves on the basket mold and the first steps of weaving the cane through the staves. The students then complete the weaving at home and return one week later to learn how to attach, nail and lash the rim and attach the handles. At this time, the various types of finishes available are explained and demonstrated.
